Santa Fe Train Demolishes Greyhound Bus in Isleta Pueblo

On Friday, April 11, 1930, a Santa Fe train demolished a Pickwick-Greyhound bus in Isleta Pueblo. 19 persons were killed according to the Albuquerque Journal’s headline of the day.

Later, the Journal would update the death toll to 22. The article said, “Indians tilling the soil nearby looked up to see the locomotive enveloped in a sheet of flame as it ground along the rails. . . .”
