The Tribal Enrollment Committee (TEC) and Michelle M. Lujan, Census Supervisor, gave a report to the Isleta Tribal Council on January 27, 2015. This report covered July 1, 2014 thru December 31, 2014.

Members of the TEC are:

Lorraine Jaramillo, Chairperson
Caroline Sells, Co-Chair
Francillia Jojola, Secretary
Linda Ann Jiron
Juana Frances Abeita

The TEC approved 13 applications for Tribal Membership 9 females and 4 males.

24 applications for descendants were approved 12 females and 12 males.

The TEC corrected one person’s blood quantum from one-half to three-fourths.

16 tribal members and 1 descendant died 10 females and 7 males.

As of December 31, 2014, there are 3,455 Tribal Members and 1,390 Descendants.

A descendant is any person that has less than one-half Isleta Indian blood. Descendants are not enrolled as members of the Pueblo.

The terms for several TEC members are expiring this year. So, the Council will need to appoint new persons to serve. If you’re interested in serving on the TEC, you should send a letter of interest to the Council requesting consideration for appointment. Or, you may contact a Council Member and request that they nominate you to serve on the TEC.
